Maia Entertainment is proud to announce the 3rd annual Chicago "Really" Short Film Fest.
The title is long but the fest won't be. Unlike most film festivals that last weeks, one week, or one weekend, we are hosting a one night event, short and sweet. The Chicago “Really” Short Film Fest was conceived as a way to get those “really” short films (15 minutes and under) out to the public in an open and entertaining atmosphere. The Abbey Pub hosts the fest and provides a great setting for a night of fun. Relax with friends, have a beer, fill your belly with food, and enjoy the show.
In 2004 we brought you three bands. In 2005 we brought you two bands. Taking the place of the third band was a live performance by a great and very funny sketch comedy duo "The Patel Leads" with Molly Hale and Bryan Irzk.
In 2006 we bring you The Devil Dolls and Beatallica!
Along with offering live entertainment the fest is all about the films on screen. We screen short films, animations, documentaries, music videos and other such videos under 15 minutes. For the filmmakers this is a great opportunity to have your films screened in front of a lively audience in an intimate and entertaining atmosphere. Not only that but we go to great lengths for such a small fest like ours to really promote the films and their filmmakers.
We take any press materials you send us and post it on our site. If you are able to attened the fest your are welcome to bring CD's or DVD's of you films to sell and help promote your work. We will have a table set up for the filmmakers just for that. We don't consider the fest a competition but we want the filmmakers to be recognized for their hard work. For this we have asked Image Union, ChicagoFilm.com, and film critic Eric Childress to participate with us again in this years film fest. Last year at the end of the night we handed out an Audience Chioce Award.
