Algren's Last Night

Writer Warren Leming (coldchicagocompany.org) knew Nelson Algren and, with director Carmine Cervi (www.bulletprooffilm.com), has written a fictional account of Algren's last night in Chicago. Algren left the city in the late 70's, and never returned to the city he had made his "trade."

The film records Algren as he moves through a landscape he had made legend. The film, which features Leming as Algren, is both a stunning visual record of contemporary Chicago, and a bitter, lyrical talk with a ghost who shaped Chicago's past.
