Rob grew up in Downers Grove , IL where his love for movies began at the Tivoli Theater. At ten years old, Rob, his brother, and some of the local kids planned one of the first ever Indiana Jones “tribute” films. Unfortunately, once everything was set they realized their 8mm camera was broken.
An actual working tool was finally given to him in 1989 with the purchase of his family's first camcorder. Countless “mini movies” were made using it. In a makeshift cinema studies class in his senior year of high school, Rob wrote, produced and directed his biggest film to culminate. It was “Lethal Weapon 3”; an amateur unofficial “sequel” to the then most current Hollywood film “Lethal Weapon 2”. It was the surprise classroom hit of 1991, garnering Rob an A+ for the class and more importantly, giving him the confidence and drive to attempt a career in film.
The following year, Rob began media classes at the College of Dupage and simultaneously began production on another unofficial sequel, this time an “Aliens” tribute film. With a better knowledge of editing and videography in tow, Rob left the College of Dupage with his Associates of Arts degree and headed off to Chicago to attend Columbia College.
Rob finished Columbia with an award winning short entitled “Another Fall From Grace” which garnered him bragging rights, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in cinematography.
Currently, Rob is hard at work writing his first feature length film, which is a psychological thriller that promises to disturb and unsettle. In addition, Rob is busy editing two short films that he had the honor to shoot for Maia Films, “Luci-D” and “Rehearsal Time”. Keep your eyes peeled. 2004 and beyond promise to be interesting!
